I gotten one more huge container of strawberries. however instead of getting them from the strawberry stand, I got them from the store. THIS IS A poor IDEA.

pile on the MILES Running challenge Day 23 – What’s something you can’t run without?

I wrote this prompt thinking we’d pick ONE must have running gear item, but it’s so hard to choose. I made a list of things I use or wear every time I run and decided it’s an 11 way tie for first place.

Re-adjusting my shirt/shorts/other while running makes me uncomfortable, causes me to stop, can lead to chafing and overall just makes for a frustrating run. wearing the right gear is key to a good run. So, each of these items is a must have because an alternative would cause some problem or distraction while running.

Top 11 must HAVES to RUN

Running shoes – I currently rotate between a few different pairs. quality running shoes are super important to help prevent fatigue and injuries. Be sure to check your shoes periodically for wear and tear.

Sports bra (high impact with adjustable straps) – even though I don’t have a large chest I hate any boob-bounce situation. I only wear certain sports bras to run and they must have adjustable straps. I have lower impact sports bras for strength training days.

Aftershokz wireless bone-conducting headphones – This is the newest must have item in my running gear, but since I got a pair of wireless open-ear headphones I can’t think of running without them. Εμμονως.

Running Shorts (sweat wicking, long shorts) – Chafing sucks. The right running gear for your body and activity can help. I swear by long-ish tight shorts made from sweat wicking materials.

Sweat wicking shirts and tanks – My favorite running top is a long sleeve, form fitting shirt by Athleta. It has piping around the bottom so it won’t ride up (sometimes my running belt pulls up my shirt, but NOT with this top).

Visor (Run eat Repeat visors have a big brim that I LOVE) – I need a visor while I run so much I’ve worn it during night runs! I love a wide brim visor to help keep the sun off my face and to help prevent sweat in my eyes.

Sunglasses (lightweight, small-ish frames that fit under my visor) – I have to have sunglasses to run, even when it’s not sunny out (in that case I wear yellow lenses). I think my eyes can be sensitive to light and smog so it helps to protect them.

Running belt to hold my phone and keys – I always run with a belt for my phone, keys, chapstick and if I’m doing a long run fuel. I prefer a wide infinity type type belt that doesn’t bounce or move. I usually forget I’m wearing it.

Phone for podcasts/audiobooks/music – I always run with my phone and am usually listening to a podcast or book, but have been mixing in more music recently.

Running GPS watch (I currently wear a not fancy Polar watch) – I don’t watch my pace super close right now (because I’m still slow compared to before 2020), but in the past would use my watch to check my pace on easy runs and at the start of races to make sure I wasn’t going out too fast (*fast for me and I didn’t want to burn out). now I use it for intervals, overall distance and speed sessions.

Running Socks (I love no show, thin-ish socks) – preventing blisters and chafing is so important. once you have a blister or chafing somewhere you typically keep irritating the area as you continue to run. the best way to stop blisters is to try and prevent them by wearing quality running socks.

I packed a lunch to eat before my 12:30pm flight. here are all the goods – sandwich, bell pepper strips, blueberries and a Luna bar. I am always afraid of running out of food. This is why you’re fat.

But – I micro-waved my Boca Chik’n patty way too long and it shrunk and was crunchy. Γιούχα. here it is on a sandwich thin. You guys know how small sammie thins are compared to normal bread and the patty is still smaller. Oh, well I ate it ?

Traveling can take a toll on your body and immune system.

This is the contrasting view I had when I landed in Salt Lake City for my layover. From palm trees to snow capped mountains. They are pretty though ?

My flight leaves SLC around 5pm and lands in MD after 11pm. So, I need to pick up some dinner from the airport. I spotted a few vegetarian items on one of the pub menus that sound very good.

I probably won’t see you again until tomorrow since I’ll get home so late. someone record The office for me!!!

In the mix: oat bran, naner, chia seeds, water, cinnamon, stevia, vanilla. This bowl was steaming so I added some Chobani Strawberry Banana yogurt to awesome it off.

Μαγειρέψτε για 4-5 ώρες σε χαμηλά (ανάλογα με το μέγεθος των στήθη). Προσθέστε μπρόκολο καθώς και μαγειρέψτε για μια ακόμη ώρα.

Σερβίρετε το!

How’s your Tuesday going? I don’t have to be into work until this afternoon so I’ve been working on blog stuff and writing all morning.

Around 10am I had some nuts and a honey tangerine. The tangerine was really good, but had 2 seeds in each segment. I coulda done without that.

Lunch was the usual – Salad with TJ’s peanut dressing and Bragg’s liquid aminos. I scored those crackers from the natural products Expo, they weren’t good.

Now for Tuesday’s “Just the Tip”:

I eat TJ’s Peanut dressing every.single.day. mostly in salads and stir-frys. sometimes in cereal or straight from the bottle.

Anyways, I have also been complimenting my dishes with Bragg’s liquid Aminos and now eat this daily too! I am not afraid of salt – since I drink so much liquid and I’m a salty sweater I need it. But, I am very LIBERAL.

With my salt and soy sauce usage. (See what I did there?)

I’ve been using Bragg liquid aminos since it has less sodium. It’s also Gluten free.

Fun Useless fact: When I was in college I learned about gluten free diets and randomly wanted to try it (before the blog). I was on board until lunch when my co-worker told me soy sauce had gluten. My response was something like, “F-this I’m out.”

To round out my lunch I had a piece of Ezekiel raisin bread with ICBINB, stevia and pumpkin pie spice.

Last week I did the Subaru first car webisode shoot.

Remember when I dyed my hair blonde?! (I had just done it in this post.) Well, that was a massive mistake and now I’m just letting it grow out. But, it looks dumb and has a very obviously line. I’m too cheap to go to a fancy salon to fix it, but every time I wear my hair down someone asks if I bleached my ends on purpose. Um, no I’m just very dumb…

I wonder if the Bragg liquid aminos could double as hair dye…

Last night I shown up house to be greeted Ben with a stack of peeled Cuties (those little oranges). I rapidly asked, “What is that all about?” fearing Ben wished to make some type of gross orange smoothie (remember his gatorade as well as strawberry combo?! No, thanks.).

Apparently he got tired over the weekend as well as made up a new game called “Eat an entire cutie in one bite” (okay the name needs work). He challenged me to provide it a try.

Not one to back down from any type of food associated challenge, I accepted…

I did it, however it was MESSY! The juice sprayed all over – even on Ben taking the picture. I felt defeated, discovered comfort in understanding I will never lose a watermelon eating contest. God’s provided us all different talents

Then, I had to let the master show me exactly how it’s done…

He’s so proud. I don’t understand if that’s adorable or sad.

I just had a short morning shift today as well as ran a few tasks after that.

Then, I satisfied Ben for lunch at a close-by park. Today is as well quite to be inside!

I made salads for both of us as well as grabbed a few snacks to go together with it.

One of the snacks was this bag of unsweetened cherries. I dislike that it’s difficult to discover unsweetened dried fruit. It’s concentrated fruit as well as quite wonderful already! But, these dried cherries are tasty without any type of additives.

While I was out of town Nature Box sent me a box of snacks. I grabbed one of the fig cookies last night.

The business sends one box a month of 4-5 bags of different snacks. This stock had the dried cherries, rice cracker things, granola as well as veggie chips. The range modifications each month.

In other news: I got a ton of bug bites from hanging out viewing the race yesterday as well as obviously my body is allergic to Texas bugs. My bites are very inflamed as well as a few colleagues were a bit alarmed as well as told me to go house as well as take some Benadryl since it appeared like I was having an allergic reaction to the bites.

Buuuuttt, the one other time I took Bdryl I promise I felt like my tongue got inflamed as well as I couldn’t breathe.

So, what I’m trying to state is, I may die best now. (And I’m a hypochondriac.)

I woke up today feeling stressed out. I dislike that! It’s because I have a lot of things to do today and they will bother me until I am done.

I made breakfast before working out this morning. My body is “off” from the long day of traveling last night. I ended up eating an apple on the way home and then grabbing half a bagel when I home from the airport.

Mid-morning I snacked on a red pear. The person at Trader Joes enjoyed me poke at them for 10 minutes before telling me, “They’re meant to be firm.”

So I replied, “Yeah they are…” and held up two pears in an inappropriate manner. [wink wink]

Speaking of endangered species…

I went on a walk with skinny Runner this afternoon.

We brought water so we wouldn’t be in danger of dehydration…

This weekend my mommy and I were contemplating what to produce Easter. She really desired ham, but we were at a loss about what to make with it.

Normally we pair everything with beans (Mexican requirement) and potato salad (love me some tater salad!).

When my mommy suggested scalloped potatoes I was surprised, but game.

We have never made scalloped potatoes before. Heck, I don’t think I’ve ever had them before!

So, I put myself in charge of creating a healthy recipe for scalloped potatoes. After some research I gathered my ideas and did my own thing.

This version utilizes greek yogurt instead of sour cream.

Healthy Scalloped Potatoes Recipe

Συστατικά:

3 pounds potatoes – peeled and sliced ( 8 medium)

1 cup ordinary greek yogurt

1 1/2 cans of 98% Fat complimentary cream of Mushroom soup

1/2 cup low fat milk (add a lot more as needed)

1/2 tsp pepper

1/2 tsp garlic powder

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Κατευθύνσεις:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix all components except potatoes and cheese in a bowl

Spray casserole with non-stick and put down one layer of sliced potatoes.

Spread 1/3 of the yogurt mixture on the potatoes.

Add 1/3 of the cheese.

Repeat layers – mine made about 3.

Top with cheese.

Bake at 350 for 45 – 60 minutes.

About 10 minutes before it’s done add crispy onion straws.
